Coffee for the Coffee Enthusiast
Calibration Coffee Lab is a passion project for me and the rebirth of my career. This business allows me to be a role player in a coffee beans journey from the coffee plant at origin all the way to your cup.
Many things have to go right in a bean's journey for you to have an amazing cup of coffee. I will respect the work that farmers, workers, and importers have to do to get that bean to the States by roasting it in a way that highlights all of the potential that the bean has to offer.
I will sample and roast many offerings and carefully choose the beans that offer the best flavor potential when brewed.
I will analyze all of my roasts and put in the effort required to create the best experience for my customers, and I will try and guide buyers to purchase and brew the types of coffee that they like. I will spend many sleepless nights thinking about how I can get more sweetness and chocolate out of a Central American bean or more tropical fruit out of an African coffee.
My goal is to roast coffees that can be enjoyed black by the home coffee enthusiast. Let me obsess over the sourcing and roasting so that you can obsess over the brew.

How does local pickup work?

What's your roasting turnaround time?
I roast at the beginning of the week (Monday/Tuesday) and have your coffee packaged and shipped a day later to allow for QC checks. Orders placed Monday through Sunday will be roasted the following Monday. Orders will then be shipped out within 2-3 days of roasting.
As the business grows, I hope to be able to roast multiple times a week to provide more desirable order to receipt timing, but in the early stages this will allow me to fill out the roaster and produce less waste. After a shipping label is created, you will receive an email with a tracking number.
How long will my coffee stay fresh?
Wholebean coffee stored in airtight bags or vessels can hold flavor for about a month. It also depends on the specific coffee.
For example, some coffees when stored well may maintain fruit characteristics for 30 days where some more nuanced flavors may drop-off in another coffee in 2-3 weeks.
Ground coffee is best used 1-2 weeks after roasting.
But if it still tastes good, drink it!
